Subluxation is the term used by Doctors of Chiropractic to describe the misalignment of bones, resulting in nerve pressure or irritation. Subluxations of the vertebrae of the spine are by far the most common type. Even the slightest misalignment can produce pressure and irritation upon nerves, effecting improper communication of vital nerve impulses to organs, cells, and tissues of the body. The greater the misalignment, the greater the possibility of its affecting a nerve, resulting in discomfort, pain, and often disabling illness.
